Press Release: Radiocoms secures contract for The Bank of England hybrid radio system upgrade
London, UK – February 2024 – Radiocoms Systems Ltd (Radiocoms), has secured a 3 year contract following a competitive tender process with the Bank of England (BoE). The contract will see Radiocoms design, supply, and deploy hybrid radio systems at their Threadneedle Street, Moorgate and Debden locations. The new communication systems will replace the existing Motorola Solutions two way radio systems, which are now end of life.
The selected technology will combine MOTOTRBO capacity plus software for multi-site connection, infrastructure, digital two radios and hybrid LTE, with Bluetooth earpieces for discrete communications. All the devices will support high level encryption.
Additionally, the system will have the capability to integrate with body-worn cameras and CCTV, providing enhanced security measures for the BoE. To support the BoE, Radiocoms will provide a comprehensive managed service with a service level agreement.
Mark Blythe, Managing director, commented, “Radiocoms is delighted to have been selected by the BOE to supply, install and maintain the replacement radio system. This selection further endorses Radiocoms’ reputation as the leading supplier of communications equipment in the UK.”
Terry Staff, Account Manager, commented, “Radiocoms are committed to delivering a resilient solution that will meet the specific needs and requirements of the BoE to support its critical operations, now and in the future. We look forward to working closely with them to ensure a smooth transition.”
