London, May 2023: Radiocoms Systems Ltd (Radiocoms) has secured a contract with the Home Office to upgrade their Border Force legacy radio systems to a Push-To-Talk over Cellular solution connecting their teams here in the UK and other juxtaposed positions.
The contract centres around modernising their existing communication system to create a resilient infrastructure that adheres to Border Forces’ data and technology strategies.
The technology is based on Entel’s AES-256 encrypted E-PoC P1 system and DN495 devices, which will support over 200 users. The new system will reduce operational costs and improve performance by enabling secure connections; allowing their teams to work more efficiently and safely.
Philip Knight, Border Force, Detection Projects & Technology Team
“Border Force’s number one priority is to keep our borders safe and secure. Reliable and secure communication systems are key to creating a resilient infrastructure for our frontline teams. We look forward to continuing our work alongside Radiocoms.”
Simon Bingham, Radiocoms, Senior Account Manager
“We are delighted to be continuing our relationship with the Home Office. This contract is testament to the hard work and dedication of our team by providing excellent customer service and support.
We look forward to using this technology to create a connected, safe and secure environment for their frontline teams.”
Steve Mulka, Entel Global Product Manager
“Entel understands a PoC system must be as robust as a traditional two-way radio system. Therefore, our E-PoC service was able to meet the precise needs of Border Force with 4-network UK roaming SIMs, dual-profiles and European wide coverage. In addition, the highly secure and robust P1 private server fitted with automated backup and fail over software will ensure one hundred percent resilience.
We are very pleased to have worked with Radiocoms to deliver phase one of this project within such a short time frame.”
