News – Double Safety Accreditation Award for Radiocoms

Supported by their internal compliance team during the approval process Radiocoms has recently been approved for a further twelve months by Alcumus SafeContractor and SafePQQ.

To demonstrate their commitment to health and safety, ethical best practices, and sustainable business growth Radiocoms made the long-term decision in 2016 to partner with Alcumus SafeContractor. As a leading third party accreditation scheme Alcumus recognises the extremely rigorous standards in health and safety management. It is used by thousands of organisations in the UK including SMEs and FTSE 100 companies.

Employing over 40 people, Radiocoms is principally involved in the design, engineering, and deployment of voice, data, and video communication systems. Specialising in the aviation, public sector, security, and utilities industries, they have a £10.2 million turnover.

The company’s renewal for SafeContractor and SafePQQ accreditation was driven by the need for a continual, uniform standard across the organisation. Alcumus SafeContractor

Alcumus SafeContractor is a third party accreditation scheme that assesses the health and safety arrangements, policies and qualifications of contractors. Many major clients recognise the scheme and accept the SafeContractor certificate as confirmation of competency in health and safety practice.

Under the SafeContractor scheme, businesses undergo a vetting process which examines health and safety procedures and their track record for safe practice. Those companies meeting the high standard are included on a database, which is accessible to registered users only via a website.

Client organisations who sign up to the scheme can access the database, enabling them to vet potential contractors before they even set foot on site. These clients agree that, as users of the scheme, they will engage only those who have received accreditation.
