Radiocoms to modernise communications infrastructure across HMPPS Approved Premises

London, 30th June 2026: Through the Government Commercial Agency (GCA) framework RM6116, Radiocoms Systems Limited (Radiocoms) has secured a contract with His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) to supply, install and manage new digital two-way radio communication systems spanning its network of Approved Premises (AP) sites across England and Wales. The award reflects Radiocoms’ standing on the GCA framework and its capability to deliver critical communications infrastructure to the standards required by UK justice and public safety bodies.

Under the scope, Radiocoms will deliver a managed service, including a rollout of new MOTOTRBO two-way radio equipment, decommissioning of legacy equipment including WEEE-compliant disposal, spectrum licensing management, and preventive maintenance, helping to maintain equipment reliability and day‑to‑day operation of the sites. To deliver a smooth and timely transition, Radiocoms has developed a regional rollout plan, leveraging its national network of engineers and led by a dedicated in-house project management team. Alongside this, Radiocoms will provide a comprehensive training programme, delivered both onsite and via its online video portal to ensure staff confidence with the new system.
