CASE N ° 1: HOSPITAL NURSING STAFF WORKING IN ISOLATION ROOMS
The isolation rooms have an airlock, which must be crossed before staff can enter the patient’s room. Several people must be able to communicate with each other from the patient’s room, the airlock and the corridor. Experience shows that this is very difficult, and the staff sometimes must shout in order to make themselves intelligible.
The reasons are various: the special suits, the protective masks, the ventilation system that can be connected to the helmet, and the doors and walls that separate the staff.
