Healthcare professionals require instant and secure communications to aid in the management of their wards and personnel communications. The lightweight VOKKERO Guardian provides a full duplex two-way radio that can be worn comfortably underneath PPE.
Equipped with a patented noise filter, its hands-free system provides unrestricted movement as no fixed installation is required. To arrange a trial of the hand sets please contact Radiocoms here >
PRODUCT FEATURES INCLUDE:
VOKKERO Guardian can be supplied in a pack of 4 with 3 in-ear microphones (SEN 410) for people with masks and a light standard micro-headset (PIR 430) for people working outside the room (larger packs available).
As part of the support for medical care, we see 2 specific cases, in the management of the current crisis for which the usefulness of our Vokkero Guardian radiocommunication solutions is proven:
CASE N ° 1: HOSPITAL NURSING STAFF WORKING IN ISOLATION ROOMS
The isolation rooms have an airlock, which must be crossed before staff can enter the patient’s room. Several people must be able to communicate with each other from the patient’s room, the airlock and the corridor. Experience shows that this is very difficult, and the staff sometimes must shout in order to make themselves intelligible.
The reasons are various: the special suits, the protective masks, the ventilation system that can be connected to the helmet, and the doors and walls that separate the staff.
These difficulties make the interventions more tedious and are sources of errors (bad information on the missing material inside the room implying several back and forth with the stock of the hospital, miscommunication of care…) and lengthening of the duration of the intervention, in a period where the time of these people is a very precious asset.
Hospital staff are therefore looking for an audio communication system to facilitate their interactions with the following requirements:
1. Ease of use and rapid deployment
2. Good audibility of personnel wearing a mask despite the possible noise generated by respirators or other ventilation systems of coveralls and masks
3. Can be heard by everyone at any time. The system must allow personnel to communicate via a voice activation system, which mutes a user’s sound when he is not speaking
4. A sound jack (microphone) compatible with the possible wearing of masks
5. 2 hours minimum battery capacity
CASE N ° 2: MILITARY AND HOSPITAL STAFF PRESENT IN THE AIR, SEA, RAIL
OR ROAD MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION USED TO TRANSFER PATIENTS (PLANES, BOATS, TRAINS, MEDICAL BUSES)
As we have seen in some regions, the COVID 19 pandemic can lead to congestion in the hospital system in certain parts of the national territory.
This means that health authorities must move infected patients, most of whom are in intensive care, from one region to another using various modes of transportation.
The medical, and sometimes military, personnel accompanying these patients during transport encounter great communication difficulties linked to several factors:
In the same way, as for the hospital staff in case of use n ° 1, the people accompanying the patients in these transfers seek a means of audio communication meeting the following requirements:
