SOLAS regulations require all vessels to have two-way radios for their firefighters on board to enable them to communicate during an emergency situation. Until this date, Radio Equipment Directive (RED) CE marked radios will still be acceptable.
With stock available from April 2020, Entel will be the first to market with an extensive range of MED compliant Fire Fighter Radios. The class-leading distinctive red bodied DTEx Firefighter Radios are available in ATEX IIB, and for vessels requiring a more stringent gas rating, there is also an ATEX IIC variant.
DTEx radios are available in both UHF and VHF variants. UHF models also support Digital mode which gives significantly better audio, extended range and longer battery endurance from a single charge in comparison to analogue radios.
As standard, the DTEx Fire Fighter Radios feature high visibility OLED display, high torque ergonomic controls designed for gloved-hand use, and industry-leading IP68 2m 4 hours submersible rating. Entel also supports an extensive range of accessories including Drager BA (Draeger). Most popular for Fire Fighters is the CXR bone conductive throat and skull microphones which eliminate ambient noise, further enhanced by DTEx’s speech tailoring technology ensures intelligible communications first time, every time.
