Meet Louise, Radiocoms Technical Support Engineer

Job role: Technical Support Engineer
Team: Engineering
Office location: Swansea
Time at Radiocoms: 2 years
Fun fact: She’s a Green Day superfan who finally got her festival moment – after years of fandom that started at 16, seeing them live was the ultimate musical bucket list check.

What is your role at Radiocoms?

I am a Technical Support Engineer, and my role is to support our customers by providing assistance through researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting and identifying solutions to resolve technical support queries and system issues. It’s all about being that reliable point of contact when our customers need help getting their systems back up and running smoothly.

What does a typical day at work look like for you?

My days start with checking overnight support requests and prioritising which issues need immediate attention. I spend time resolving open support tickets, troubleshooting everything from hardware malfunctions to software glitches, network connectivity problems, or user access issues.

Throughout the day, I’m providing support to colleagues and customers through various channels – email, phone calls, or using remote desktop tools when I need to see exactly what’s happening on their system. I follow systematic troubleshooting procedures to quickly identify root causes and implement solutions. The variety keeps things interesting, and there’s real satisfaction in solving a complex technical puzzle and getting someone back up and running.

What’s your ideal day off?

My ideal day off is spending time with my kids. We might grab lunch somewhere nice, hit up an arcade, or go bowling – just enjoying each other’s company without any distractions. It’s a good way to switch off from the technical stuff and focus on being their Mum.

I’m also into live music. I go to gigs and festivals when I can. Recently saw Green Day at a festival, which was great since I’ve been a fan since I was 16.
