Burberry is a global luxury brand with a distinctive British identity. Over the decades the brand has built a reputation for craftsmanship, innovation and design.

Since 2009 Radiocoms has been supplying two way radio equipment to Burberry outlets throughout the United Kingdom and further afield into its French, Austrian and Netherlands stores primarily to support the loss prevention departments.

In mid-2013 Burberry asked Radiocoms to supply radio equipment to its retail outlet at Heathrow airport, terminal three (T3). The radio equipment was required to serve two purposes; loss prevention and improved efficiency of service to customers. As the outlet store and the stockroom in T3 are in different locations and on daily basis Burberry’s sales assistants are required to visit the stock room to collect specific items required by its customers, the use of radios is of great value in improving speed of customer service. Waiting time by customers for goods stored in the stockroom at T3 was reduced by 50% following deployment of the radio system; so Burberry requested that Radiocoms provide a system to connect all of its retail outlets at Heathrow over a single radio system. Radiocoms was able to provide this service having recently been awarded a contract to supply and install a DMR Tier 3 system and being one of only three approved suppliers of Heathrow Airport Limited.

Radiocoms has recently supplied Burberry with twenty five of the latest X1P handsets from Hytera, initially operating on Heathrow Airport Limited’s analogue MPT1327 trunk system.

The network allows Burberry personnel to communicate freely both amongst their own terminal group and on an inter-terminal basis. The Hytera X1P radio is fully upgradeable and the equipment will be migrated onto Radiocoms’ DMR Tier 3 digital radio system when it goes live in April 2015. The migration will provide Burberry with all the present features but with improved audio quality.
